BENEFITS OF ART JOURNALING
The act of creating has been proven to reduce physical and emotional effects of trauma, illness, etc. Art journaling is a powerful tool that is relaxing and creates a deep sense of self-discovery, inspires, clarifies thinking, and encourages self-confidence, self-expression, communication, and social interactions.
It can help kids de-stress, to acknowledge, and better understand their emotions. It’s a way to explore and channel their feelings in a positive way without judgment, constraints, or guidelines.
ART JOURNALING AT UPTON
This club is specifically for Tweens & Teens! No experience necessary. Each week we will provide simple, open-ended prompts to inspire participants to explore color, images, and words. In this safe and positive environment, your tween/teen will learn how to express their thoughts & feelings on paper while learning about different mediums and techniques.
The focus is on creative expression, playing, and exploration. We will be drawing, painting, collaging, writing, venting, and brainstorming.
INCLUDES: 6 classes, a quality art journal, supply pouch, 3 art pens, 2 paintbrushes, clips, collage paper, and more so they can play in their journal any time inspiration hits!
**EXTENDED AFTER SCHOOL CARE: Should you need your child to stay at school past 4:30 pm the Boys & Girls Club offers free programming until 5:30 pm.
Scholarships available! Please reach out to Mrs. Mulliner.
